Adan is Eva 阿蛋也是二娃 reimagines Chinese elementary school morning exercises through the lens of the Adam and Eve story.
Two dancers face a projection of synchronized routines. Their backs are bare; their fronts marked with reflective star stickers, symbols of reward and discipline.
As light hits their skin, the projection dresses their bare bodies in uniforms. In this moment, nudity and uniform become indistinguishable and inseparable.
Wolf Boxuan Chen proposes that physical education is where we first begin to sense our bodies—not through stillness or scores, but movement. Unlike tests, dance cannot be done “perfectly.” The attempt to match is always incomplete. That gap becomes freedom.
Though the projection continues, the dancers slowly diverge. Their movements shift, loosen. The image no longer leads. The standard begins to dissolve.
